Important Reminder: Extension of Grace Period for Payment on NFIP Direct Flood Insurance Premiums Expires January 15

Due to the lapse in program authority from 10/1/25-11/14/25, the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) extended the 30-day grace period for payment of renewal premiums. (Full FEMA Bulletin is attached.) Any renewal payment due from a policyholder on or after 10/1/25 was granted a grace period until 1/15/26. We are rapidly closing in on that deadline.

As your Regional Sales Manager, I encourage you to do a quick review of any expired policies in your portfolio to minimize chances of coverage gaps. If you need assistance logging in to the Agent Portal or guidance on how to run the Expired Policies report, please don't hesitate to reach out. If you are familiar with the portal, here is a quick guide on how to run the report.

  1. Log in to NFIP Direct - Agent Portal.

  2. Click the My Profile tab.

  3. Select Agency Reports.

  4. Click View Report next to Grace Period Policies Report.

  5. To open in Excel, click the CSV print box.

It is vitally important to note that renewal payments must be received by the NFIP no later than Thursday,  January 15, 2026. (Post marks will not apply if received after January 15.) If you have policyholders with renewals that expired between 10/1/25-12/1/25, please encourage them to make a payment online or mail a check by certified mail to the following:
